Spread the love

There will never be another like Jed the Fish, a singular legend on our landscape.
I was honored to get to know him during our times at KCSN. For a while he was doing his show after mine. One night while I was wrapping up, he set up colored mood lights around the studio. It didn’t matter that you couldn’t hear it, he was creating his own reality.

Another time (pictured here) the solitude of a Saturday night broadcast turned into an unforgettable radio nerd date night goofing with Jed Fish Gould and Nic Harcourt. Before I left, I turned to see Jed sauntering past in his underwear. He had taken off his shorts, neatly laid them out on the desk and settled in to start his show. All part of the show-pep of Jed the Fish.

Every so often I’d get a random text with some psychedelic audio/video creation, but one time it was particularly disturbing. I couldn’t figure out how he made the images or what he did to create the sounds. Then he revealed it was an extreme close-up of his homemade chili boiling. Such was the genius of Jed the Fish. You will be missed, but not forgotten. I am reminded once again to go see those people we think about.

Sad news today . Our friend and one of the stars of our film @jedthefish passed away today. We had the pleasure of interviewing him for our film and he was a very kind and interesting human being. He has done so much for the world of music and I know he will be greatly missed by many of his fans. Thank you for sharing your stories with us! Keep rocking on Jed. RIP
