Beyond her leadership at LFW, Ruby was a strategic consultant and purpose coach at Direct Your Purpose, where she worked with individuals and organizations to help them find direction and purpose in their work. She was a StartingBloc Fellow, an honor that recognizes leaders committed to social impact and positive change. Ruby’s career also saw her in various leadership roles, including Director of LEEP Projects at Clark University and Co-founder of Gardening the Community, an organization focused on youth development and urban agriculture.
Ruby’s academic background was as varied and impactful as her professional one. She studied Political Science at Mount Holyoke College, Urban Communities and Public Policy at UMass Amherst, and Nonprofit Management & Philanthropy at Bay Path College. Ruby was deeply committed to learning, both as a student and as a lifelong educator, understanding that education and community-driven work are essential in effecting long-term, positive change.
Her legacy also extends to her work at Mount Holyoke College, where she served as Assistant Director.
