With deep sorrow but unwavering hope in the promise of eternal life, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Mr. Shane Varughese Thomas, who departed this earthly life on April 24, 2025, at the tender age of 21. His passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though we grieve his loss profoundly, we find comfort in our faith and in the belief that Shane is now in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father, reunited with those who have gone before him.
Shane was the cherished son of Mr. Thomas Varghese and the late Mrs. Silgy Thomas. A beacon of light and joy to his family and friends, Shane’s kind spirit, gentle nature, and loving heart touched all who were blessed to know him. His life, though short, was filled with love, laughter, and compassion.
His memory will forever live on through his devoted sisters, Shelby Thomas and Sheen Marie Thomas, who held a special and enduring bond with their beloved brother. Shane’s presence in their lives was a source of endless happiness and pride, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide them
Shane is lovingly remembered by his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Aleyamma Varughese, whose prayers and love were a constant presence in his life. He was also blessed with the unwavering support and affection of his extended family, including his uncle, Mr. Varughese P. Abraham, and his family, as well as his aunts, Mrs. Jessly Alex and Mrs. Mini Viju, and their families. Their collective memories of Shane — the moments of joy, the shared celebrations, and the quiet conversations — will be treasured forever.
The community is invited to join in a time of remembrance and farewell during the viewing and funeral service, which will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, located at 1009 Unruh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. This sacred space, where Shane worshipped and found spiritual nourishment, will host a service filled with prayers, hymns, and reflections honoring his life and legacy.
Following the service, Shane will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery, located at 25 Byberry Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. The interment is scheduled for 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather for a final farewell, commending his soul into the eternal care of God, trusting in the promise of resurrection and everlasting life.
During this time of profound loss, we humbly ask for your prayers for Shane’s soul — that he may find eternal rest in the heavenly kingdom — and for comfort and strength for his grieving family. In their moments of sorrow, may they feel the comforting arms of our Savior surrounding them, granting them peace that surpasses all understanding.
