Bobby Gene Allman, age 78, of Concord, North Carolina, passed peacefully into his eternal home on April 26, 2025, at the Tucker Hospice House, embraced by the love and presence of his family. His departure leaves behind a profound sense of loss, but his life was one richly lived—full of love, dedication, service, and a steadfast commitment to those he held dear.

Born on January 24, 1947, in Concord, Bobby was the beloved son of Norman and Vivian Allman. From an early age, he exhibited the warmth and generosity that would become his hallmark throughout life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne Allman, and his sister Janette King—family members who no doubt welcomed him with open arms in his heavenly home.

A man of many dimensions, Bobby was first and foremost a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He found his greatest joy in his family, and that joy radiated in everything he did. His wife, Loretta, was not only his partner in life but his favorite dance partner—together they shared a bond built on love, laughter, and decades of memories. Whether it was during quiet moments at home or while spinning on the dance floor, their connection was evident to all who knew them.

Bobby’s warmth extended far beyond his immediate family. Known for his open-hearted spirit, he welcomed everyone as part of his extended family. His annual backyard barbeques were a highlight for many—a time when friends and relatives gathered under his hospitality, laughter filling the air, and the aroma of slow-cooked food rising from the grill. He took great pride in these gatherings, and they became a beloved tradition that brought people together year after year.

A man of great discipline and perseverance, Bobby was an avid runner who believed in maintaining both physical and mental strength. He also had a deep passion for woodworking, particularly in building bluebird boxes—a hobby that reflected both his love for nature and his quiet patience. Many homes and gardens now house the fruits of his labor, each box a small testament to his craftsmanship and care.

Bobby served his country with honor and distinction in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army’s HHC 67th Signal Battalion. His time in the military shaped his sense of duty, resilience, and brotherhood, values he carried into his civilian life. After returning home, he worked for many years with Western Electric in Charlotte, building a strong reputation for integrity and dedication. Later, Bobby devoted over two decades of his life to law enforcement, retiring after more than 20 years of distinguished service. His calm demeanor, steadfast sense of justice, and commitment to community safety made him a respected figure in his field.

Bobby’s legacy lives on through those who survive him. His beloved wife Loretta remains his greatest treasure and most loyal companion. He is also survived by his brother Harley (Gloria) Cook and by his children: Jennifer Schultz, Lauren (Brandon) Hunt, Alisha Eudy, Heather (Kyle) Commerford, and Wesley (Vicki) Allman. His grandchildren—Jack Schultz, Olivia Moore, Brayden Hunt, Brylan Hunt, and Parker Eudy—were the apples of his eye, and he relished every moment spent with them, passing on wisdom, laughter, and love.

Those who knew Bobby will forever cherish his memory—his warm smile, steady hands, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He leaves behind not only a family but a wide circle of friends and neighbors whose lives he touched in countless ways. His was a life well lived—a life of purpose, faith, and unyielding kindness.
