It is with the deepest, and heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our long-time co-worker, dear friend, and irreplaceable soul, Jill Pearce. Words cannot begin to describe the sorrow we feel as we come to terms with this tremendous loss.
Jill served as an Animal Control Officer for the City of Warner Robins for nearly two decades. For almost 20 years, she committed her life not just to a job, but to a calling. Her passion, dedication, and love for animals and people alike was evident in everything she did. Whether she was rescuing a stray, offering comfort to an injured animal, educating the public, or responding to calls at all hours, Jill did it all with compassion, professionalism, and heart. Her care extended far beyond her job description—Jill gave her whole heart to every life she touched.
To the countless animals who found comfort, safety, and love because of Jill, and to the many families she helped reunite or build through adoptions and rescues—her impact is immeasurable. Jill didn’t just work at the shelter; she was the heartbeat of it. Her presence filled every hallway, every kennel, and every corner with purpose and warmth. She was a mentor to her colleagues, a source of strength during difficult days, and a constant reminder of why we do what we do.
She was, without a doubt, a WONDERFUL ACO, a compassionate advocate, and a fierce protector of the voiceless. She taught us, inspired us, challenged us, and stood beside us. Her absence leaves a hole that can never be filled.
Jill was so deeply loved—by her family, her friends, the animals she served, and all of us in the Warner Robins Animal Control (WRAC) and Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) families. We are shattered by this tragic and sudden loss. The grief we feel is immense, and there are truly no words that can ease the pain. This is a sorrow that echoes across every person who had the honor of knowing her.
We humbly ask that you keep Jill’s children and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Please also hold close her WRAC and WRPD families during this time of unimaginable grief. We are united in mourning, and in celebrating the beautiful legacy Jill leaves behind.
In honor of Jill and to allow staff the space to grieve and remember her, the animal shelter will be closed today. We appreciate your understanding and compassion. For emergency animal-related concerns, please contact 478-542-2000.
Jill, we are forever grateful for the years we had with you, for the lives you saved, and for the love you poured into your work and into all of us. You were a light, a fighter, a friend, and a protector. Your memory will live on in the animals we serve, the team you shaped, and in every heart you touched.
In another life, til we meet again.
We LOVE you, Jill. Always.
