The creative community in Denver and beyond is heartbroken by the passing of Zack “Santino” Ignazio, the visionary owner and founder of Fixation Fabric Arts by 4D Gallery.
Zack passed away after being on life support at Glens Falls Hospital in New York. His final moments were marked with an Honor Walk, a powerful tribute to his selfless choice to be an organ donor—a decision that will give life and hope to others, even in his passing.
Zack, who lived in Denver, Colorado, was a passionate artist, curator, and entrepreneur. Since 2016, he had poured his heart and soul into Fixation Fabric Arts, a one-of-a-kind creative space that reflected his commitment to experimental textiles, wearable art, and community expression.
The gallery quickly became a beacon for artists, collaborators, and creatives seeking connection and inspiration through fabric and form. Zack’s imaginative spirit turned the studio into more than just a gallery—it became a sanctuary for self-expression and innovation.
Zack’s passing has left a void that cannot be filled. To his family and loved ones, he was a son, a partner, and a soul full of warmth, mischief, and generosity. To his friends and artistic collaborators, he was a firebrand—a relentless creative force who challenged norms, lifted others, and saw art as a vital tool for transformation.
He had been in a relationship with Jennifer Powers since June 2023, and those close to them often described their connection as joyful, grounding, and full of mutual support and care.
Jennifer, along with Zack’s family, made the difficult and courageous decision to remove life support after doctors determined he would not recover. In one of his final acts of generosity, Zack will donate his organs through Donate Life, ensuring that others can continue living through his selfless gift.
On the night of his passing, friends, family, and hospital staff gathered at Glens Falls Hospital in New York for Zack’s Honor Walk—a deeply emotional ceremony in which those who loved and respected him lined the hallways as he was moved from the ICU to the operating room for organ donation.
The event was not only a goodbye, but a celebration of Zack’s unwavering spirit and his belief in helping others, even in his final moments. The invitation to participate in the Honor Walk came with a heartfelt message: “Please don’t come to support me tonight. This is for Zack.”
Those words reflect who he was—a person who always put others before himself, who lived with compassion, and who would want his departure to uplift others through love, remembrance, and hope.
Zack’s presence in the Denver arts community will be deeply missed. Whether he was curating a show, crafting stunning textile pieces, or encouraging a fellow artist to keep pushing forward, Zack left an undeniable mark. He inspired people to live boldly, create authentically, and embrace life in all its chaotic beauty.
A memorial celebration of Zack’s life will be planned in Denver in the coming weeks, where friends, family, and fellow artists will gather to share stories, exhibit his work, and continue the legacy he began. His spirit lives on in every piece of art he touched, every life he inspired, and every person who now carries a part of him forward through organ donation.
In his life and in his passing, Zack Ignazio embodied creativity, courage, and love. His legacy will forever be woven into the fabric of the community he built. Rest in power, Zack. You were, and always will be, deeply loved.
