With profound sadness, the family and friends of Monica (Weising) Izzo announce her passing on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her home in Monroe Township, New Jersey.
Monica was just 51 years old—a woman full of life, love, and energy whose sudden loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Monica was a lifelong resident of Monroe Township.
She graduated from Monroe Township High School in 1991 and went on to earn her associate’s degree from Middlesex County Community College. From a young age, Monica demonstrated a passion for people and service, which would guide her throughout her professional journey.
Monica began her career in restaurant management and was proud to have worked for Disney, where she developed her renowned sense of hospitality and commitment to excellence.
Eventually, she transitioned into the healthcare industry, where she truly found her calling. For the past 28 years, she served as an Account Manager at Aetna. Her work ethic, professionalism, and compassionate approach left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
But Monica’s greatest role, by far, was that of a devoted mother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children—Zackary, Nickolas, Shealyn, and Corinne—and was present in every meaningful moment of their lives. From PTO meetings and class celebrations to hockey practices and tournaments, Monica was a constant, enthusiastic presence.
She was not just involved—she was deeply invested. Her role as a hockey mom was a particular point of pride; the hockey community became her extended family, and she wore the title with unmatched joy and devotion.
Monica’s warmth, strength, and selflessness extended far beyond her immediate family. She was the kind of person who always remembered birthdays, checked in on friends during hard times, and made everyone around her feel special. She was a natural nurturer who found fulfillment in giving, whether that meant volunteering her time or simply offering a shoulder to lean on.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Izzo, whose memory she carried with love and respect. She also mourned the loss of her beloved grandparents—Frank and Ruth Podgorski, and Herman and Julia Weising—as well as her father-in-law, William Lecorchick, Jr., all of whom helped shape the compassionate, resilient woman she became.
Monica leaves behind a devoted and loving family, including her husband of three years, William Lecorchick III, whose partnership brought her great happiness and strength.
She is survived by her four children: Zackary and Nickolas Izzo of Monroe Twp., Shealyn Lecorchick of Carlsbad, CA, and Corinne Lecorchick of Monroe Twp. Her parents, William and Marian (Podgorski) Weising of Leland, NC, and her brother, Justin Weising, also of Leland, NC, mourn the loss of their cherished daughter and sister.
She is also remembered by her loving mother-in-law, Nadine (Hodges) Lecorchick of Monroe Twp., as well as her extended family: brothers-in-law Thomas Lecorchick (wife Keri) and Kevin Lecorchick (wife Adriana); sisters-in-law Katrina Larsen (husband Thomas) and Christine Lecorchick; and 12 nieces and nephews. Monica was also deeply connected to her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom were blessed by her unwavering love and loyalty.
A memorial gathering will be held at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., located at 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Visitation will take place from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, and from 10–11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. A Catholic blessing will follow at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where loved ones will come together to honor Monica’s beautiful life and offer comfort to one another.
In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Monica’s giving spirit, those who wish to make a contribution in her memory are encouraged to donate to a charity of their choice.
Monica (Weising) Izzo will be remembered for her radiant smile, boundless generosity, and the fierce love she had for her family and community. Though her time on earth was far too short, her impact will endure for generations. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing her.
